Town of Bellingham
Local Emergency Management Agency

The Town of Bellingham Local Emergency Planning Committee,  pursuant to the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act of 1986, has available for public review copies of the Town of Bellingham integrated Hazardous Materials Response Plan and Hazardous Materials Chemical Inventory (Tier II) Reports by appointment with Contact and Contact Information to the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief.or the Director. The Town of Bellingham Local Emergency Planning Committee meets at 10 Common Street at the New Municipal Center on the following dates.

  April 19th at 10am  at the Wilfred Arcand Meeting Room
         July 19th   at 10am  at the Wilfred Arcand Meeting Room
        October 25th, at 10am  at the Wilfred Arcand Meeting Room
         December 20th at 10am  at the Wilfred Arcand Meeting Room

Bellingham's Local Emergency Management Agency is seeking volunteers to staff shelters in Town in the event of an emergency.

Such emergencies typically include severe weather resulting in loss of electricity forcing residents to seek shelter.

If you are interested in volunteering please email LEMA Coordinator Mark Poirier with contact information.  

Although not required, please include any specific training you may have which may be of added benefit (ie. nurses, doctors, counselors etc ).
The town of Bellingham is coordinating a proactive plan to triage disasters/ emergencies through the Local Emergency Management Agency.

Volunteers, Registered Nurses, and Paramedics are needed.

The following equipment is also needed to execute emergency contingencies.

       4 wheel drive vehicles and drivers
       Portable gas generators ( needed for medical purposes
       Gas Chain saw
       Sump pumps
