IEEC2009 and the Stretch Code
Massachusetts’ residential & commercial building codes are undergoing significant changes this year. The state is not only implementing a new base building energy code (IECC2009), but many towns have also adopted the stricter building code appendix known as the “Stretch Energy Code” to further improve energy efficiency in new residential construction. In order for Bellingham to obtain the Massachusetts “Green Community” status the “Stretch Code” must be adopted at town meeting. Find out all the benefits of adopting this 7-5546.
