New Water Meters and all appurtenant fittings and remote meter reading equipment must be obtained directly from the Bellingham Department of Public Works.
If an applicant expects to need several Water Meter Setups, they are advised to notify the DPW at least seven days in advance to avoid delays.
Water Service valves shall ONLY to be operated by the Bellingham Department of Public Works staff. If it is determined that the water has been turned on by any other party, the DPW will not sign off on the Certificate of Occupancy for the building until a fine of $1,000 has been paid.
If there are repeat offenders, the Town will pursue legal action against violators either through the Plumber’s and or Construction Supervisor’s License(s).
