The Town of Bellingham invites contractors to submit bids for: Interior Renovations to the Department of Public Works (Contract 2017-IRD).
Bids must be received by November 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Bellingham Town Clerk’s Office, Municipal Center, 10 Mechanic Street, Bellingham, MA, at which time they will be opened and read aloud.
The scope of work includes construction of interior alterations at the existing Department of Public Works Garage, including the renovation and expansion of two toilet rooms. Estimated construction cost: $ 79,000.
A non-mandatory Prebid Conference will be held Thursday, November 16, at 10:00 AM at the Department of Public Works, 26 Blackstone Street, Bellingham, MA 02019-1602. Any request for interpretation of plans and specifications may be submitted in writing at that time. Bidders will have an opportunity to view the site of the work following the Prebid Conference.
Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer’s or cashier’s check payable to the Owner, is required in the amount of five percent of the bid, in accordance with Section 00 21 13, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.

Contract Documents may be viewed and downloaded as a Portable Document Format (PDF) file free of charge at www.accentblueprints.com. Copies may be obtained for a fee by completing an order online or by calling 978-362-8038 for each set. Completed orders may be picked up at the office of Accent Printing located at 99 Chelmsford Road, North Billerica, MA 01862 (978-362-8038), from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.~ Copies may also be shipped to prospective bidders for an additional charge to cover handling and mailing fees. All payments for printing and shipping are nonrefundable. For addition to the project plan holder’s list to guarantee receipt of addenda, it is recommended interested bidders obtain the Contract Documents directly from Accent. Interested bidders will be prompted to register
an email address with Accent to access the documents.
The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00 72 00 GENERAL CONDITIONS of these specifications.
All bids for this project are subject to applicable bidding laws of Massachusetts, including General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended.
Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Director of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Bidder, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract.
By submission of a bid, the Bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded after the opening of bids.

The Board of Selectmen is the awarding authority on this contract.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in bids and to reject any or all bids.
