INVITATION FOR BIDS - Pulaski and Lake Intersection Signalization - Contract 2018

INVITATION FOR BIDS

January 29, 2018

The Bellingham Department of Public Works invites bids on: Pulaski and Lake Intersection Signalization - Contract 2018-PLIS.

Bids must be received by March 1,  2018  at 1:00 pm at the Office of the Bellingham Town Clerk’s Office, Municipal Center, 10 Mechanic Street, Bellingham, MA, at which time they will be opened and read aloud.

The work consists of, but is not limited to the installation of a complete traffic control signal including the installation of: conduit, pull boxes, wire loop detection, sidewalk and wheelchair ramp reconstruction and driveway reconstruction, pavement markings and other various items to complete the traffic signal control installation.          

Contract documents will be available at the DPW Office 26 Blackstone Street, after NOON on February 7, 2018, (Office Hours 7 AM to 3:30 PM Monday-Friday for viewing and pick up.  

There is a $50 refundable charge per set of plans and specifications.  The $50 charge will be refunded if the plans and specifications are received in good condition no more than fourteen (14) calendar days after the bid opening.  Bid documents will be mailed via next day deliver to prospective bidders for an additional prepaid fee of $25.00.  Electronic (PDF) copies are available free of charge by emailing a request to tgriffin@bellinghamma.org

All firms submitting bids must be pre-qualify by the MASS DOT for:
$250,000 – Class: Traffic Signals

A 5% bid bond is required and must be submitted with the bids.  Contractor selected to perform work will be required to provide 100% payment and performance bonds.

Firms must be able to supply insurance certificates indicating coverage as noted in the bid documents and the contractor will be required to sign an indemnity agreement prior to award of work under this bid.

All labor performing work on this contract must be paid in accordance with the, Commonwealth of Massachusetts approved wage scales.  Certified payrolls must be provided to the town for all work performed.
