Cheyenne
Cheyenne and her handler Officer Gosselin

The Bellingham Police Department is sad to announce the passing of our police tracking bloodhound Cheyenne. Cheyenne was a red bloodhound, she was born 03/15/1999. She passed away on 04/11/2010 due to a stomach condition known as bloat. She was donated to officer Gosselin on 06/08/2003 by Pam Andrews, a breeder from Lake Butler, Florida. Cheyenne worked for short time in Florida before coming to us in Bellingham. During her time with this department Cheyenne was involved in numerous High Profile tracks for us and other area Departments. She was able to locate 9 of 14 people including 3 bodies while working with us. Cheyenne retired from regular duty in 2007. She lived out her retirement with officer Gosselin at his home. She was a great asset to this and many other area communities and she will be missed greatly.

***Beware of Solicitors***

02/19/2010

Residents be advised that we have had several reports of solicitors moving about the Town of Bellingham. We have had reports of people shoveling snow, carpet cleaners, water inspection workers and so on....Any solicitor should be coming into the station to identify himself and his means of transportation as well as residents should call Bellingham Police Dept. Business Line 508-966-1212 with any information. A description of the person (s) and a vehicle and registration would be helpful.

We have had a rise in house breaks and some of this information maybe useful. It is important for you as residents and for police to know who is in your neighborhood.

-Detective Jennifer Gosselin
