Bellingham is governed by a five member Board of Selectmen who appoint a Town Administrator to manage the day-to-day activities of the Community. The Town adopted a Home Rule Charter in 1993, which details the responsibility of the various Public Officials and Departments. Town Meetings are held each May to set funding limits for the coming fiscal year and again in October. All registered voters of the Town are encouraged to participate. For more information, contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 508-966-5827.
All of our Town Departments strive to provide prompt, reliable and consistent services to the residents of Bellingham. Our Municipal Center is designed to accommodate customer needs in a convenient and professional manner. Offices are open 40 hours per week including early evening hours each Monday.
While customer service is at the heart of our effort, we recognize the competing need to maintain affordable fees and taxes for the citizens we serve. To this end, Bellingham remains one of the lowest taxed communities in the region while maintaining a full level of municipal services. We all take great pride in being a part of Bellingham’s Town Government and welcome your input and suggestions.
