Public Disclosure of FY2007 Real Estate Values

The Bellingham Board of Assessors has completed its review of all property classes in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue triennial recertification of property values. 

A listing of the Fiscal 2007 values will be available for public inspection during the week of December 4th, 2006 through December 8th, 2006 at the Town Hall Assessors Office as well as the Bellingham Public Library.  Please note that these values are proposed values and have not received final approval from the Department of Revenue. 

Taxpayers with questions regarding their property assessment may contact the Bellingham Assessors Office at (508) 657-2862 or email the Assessors at assessors@bellinghamma.org.  The Assessors Office is open to the public Monday, 8:30AM to 7PM; Tuesday through Thursday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM; and Friday, 8:30AM to 1PM

Please be advised that the Board of Assessors has retained the services of Mayflower Valuation to assist them in their property valuation process.

BELLINGHAM BOARD OF ASSESSORS

The Bellingham Assessor’s Office has mailed personal exemption applications for Fiscal 2007.  Any taxpayer who received an exemption in Fiscal 2006, the previous fiscal year, automatically was placed on the mailing list for this year.

Personal exemptions reduce a portion of the taxes assessed on a domicile if certain qualifications are met.  Qualifications vary, but generally relate to age, ownership of property, length of residency, disability, income and assets.  Individuals who fall under the following categories may be eligible for a personal exemption: 
Blind
Veterans with awards or service-connected disability
Surviving spouse
Senior citizens age 65 and older


Please note that in order to qualify for the senior citizen exemption, the applicant must attain the age of 65 by July 1, 2006.  More detailed information about the qualifications can be obtained by calling the Assessors Offic
