SENIOR TAX WORKOFF PROGRAM
The Senior Tax Workoff program is a rewarding program where eligible seniors can have temporary jobs with the town to obtain money off their property taxes.
As of January 1, 2022: the Bellingham Town Council approved an increase in the rate of pay to $15.00 an hour for 100 hours a year. This will allow participating and eligible seniors to gain credit to offset their property taxes at a maximum benefit of $1,500.00 a year. This is the maximum allowed under the law.
Eligible citizens must be 60 years of age or older, a resident of Bellingham and own and occupy the property.
