Notice from the Bellingham Cemetery Committee & Sextons

seal

In anticipation of Memorial Day, the Committee & Sextons request that individuals with loved ones and family members interred in Town of Bellingham Cemeteries do some spring clean up to help beautify the grounds.

We ask that you remember, some decorations are not allowed under Town Cemetery Regulations. Items such as: grave borders, moving decorations, benches, out of season decorations, and the like are not acceptable grave decorations.

If old flowers or plants and other unacceptable decorations are not removed before May 7th they will be removed by the DPW staff and stored at the DPW - 26 Blackstone Street until June 15th. They will be disposed of if not picked up at the DPW before June 15th at 3 PM.

Town of Bellingham Cemeteries:

Scott Cemetery – Center Street – gravesites and columbarium niches are available for purchase

Oak Hill Cemeteries – Harford Ave – gravesites are available for purchase

North Cemetery – Hartford Ave

Center Cemetery – Mechanic Street

Depot Street Cemetery – Depot Street

Finally, we ask for your assistance. The Town recently took ownership of the Oak Hill Cemetery. The records we inherited are incomplete. If you have a deed to grave sites at the Oak Hill Cemetery we request that you contact the DPW at 508-966-5813 and provide copies or information to help us build accurate records of grave ownership and better knowledge of whose remains are interred at Oak Hill.

Thank You
