Town Clerk Announces Special Election

Bellingham Town Clerk, Larry Sposato, announces a Special Election to be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 7AM until 8PM at the Bellingham High School Gymnasium. The election is being held to fill the remainder of a Select Board term vacated by resignation. The seat will be up for election again in June of 2024.

Nomination papers will be available beginning at start of business on June 26, 2023 and must be returned to the Town Clerk’s office no later than close of business on July 17, 2023. Nomination papers will be available throughout that period. The last day to withdraw from the election will be July 24, 2023.

Although there will be no scheduled early voting hours or generalized vote-by-mail, any registered voter who is not able to come to the polls may request an absentee ballot or vote at the Town Clerk’s office. Absentee ballots must be received back by 8:00 PM on August 29, 2023; voting-in-office ends at noon on August 28, 2023. Permanent absentee voters who checked off the “all elections this year” box need not re-apply for a ballot.
