Library Cards & Home Delivery

Library Card

Any resident of Massachusetts may register for a Bellingham Public Library card provided that they reside in a Massachusetts community that has a public library that meets the minimum standards set by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Individuals whose primary residence is in a Massachusetts community where the library has been decertified will not have borrowing privileges at the Bellingham Public Library.

The Bellingham Public Library does not lend to out-of-state residents or residents of decertified communities, exceptions listed below.  Out-of-state residents with cards from other C/W MARS libraries may not borrow from, or pick up items from other libraries, at the Bellingham Public Library.

Out of state residents and residents from decertified communities:

  • who are employed in the Town of Bellingham are eligible to obtain a Bellingham Library card and must pay an annual fee of $35 for the card.  Annual proof of employment (pay stub) is required.
  • who are employed by the Bellingham School Department are eligible to obtain a Bellingham Library card.  There is no fee for school employees, however, annual proof of employment (pay stub and/or school ID) is required.
