Who implements the goals of the Master Plan?

According to Bellingham’s Home Rule Charter adopted on May 26, 2004, the Planning Board will perform a comprehensive review of the Town’s Master Plan every ten years. In 1998, the Master Plan was approved by the Town, but it was not stated who would be responsible for implementation of the goals.

Consequently, the approved 2010 Master Plan included a provision that the Planning Board would bear the responsibility of implementing the goals of the Master Plan. The Master Plan Implementation Committee (MPIC) was then formed and began the process of moving forward with the goals set forth in the plan.
