- Do you provide transportation to medical appointments?
-
We do provide transportation for senior citizens and those with disabilities to local medical appointments within a 10-mile radius to Bellingham. This is a curb-to-curb service; riders must be able to enter and exit a vehicle without assistance. We request appointments be made earlier in the day when possible and that the request for transportation be made at least 24 hours in advance of the appointment.
- Do you need volunteers? How do I apply to be a volunteer?
-
We love our volunteers and are always looking for more! Feel free to pick up an application at the front desk or contact Terri Graham at 508-657-2710 to discuss with the kinds of activities you might like to do. You may also email Teri Graham. A Criminal Offender Record Check (CORI) must be processed before a volunteer can begin volunteering. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance to Senior Center staff, as well as our attendees and volunteers.
- Do I need to join the Senior Center in order to participate in activities?
-
You do not have to join or pay dues to participate in activities at the Senior Center; however, some events and programs may have a fee to help cover expenses or require you to sign up in advance. Please call the senior center at 508-966-0398 if you have any questions.
- What age do I have to be to participate in Senior Center activities?
-
Programs and trips are for Bellingham residents age 60 and up; however, we welcome non-residents and younger adults to take advantage of some of our programs as space allows. To check out our activities you may download a copy of our Spirit of Bellingham newsletter which is mailed directly to residents 60 and up. (You may also request to receive the newsletter via email if you desire by calling 508-966-0398.
