Do Not Knock Registry Information

The Town Clerk’s office maintains a “Do Not Knock” Registry.

No salesperson shall engage in door-to-door sales without first having applied for and received a Town of Bellingham door-to-door sales permit, and upon approval and issuance of a Town of Bellingham door-to-door sales permit, each salesperson shall be provided with a copy of the No Solicitation Registry.

There shall be no soliciting to any address on this registry. The only exceptions to the No Solicitation Registry shall be limited to Bellingham youth groups serving children 17 years of age and under, politicians campaigning and religious organizations. Such excepted organizations and entities shall not be required to obtain a permit hereunder.

Each violation of any provision of this article shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $100, and upon the occurrence of a second violation of this article by any salesperson, the issuing authority may, by seven days' prior written notice, revoke that salesperson's Town of Bellingham door-to-door sales permit.

See No Solicitation Bylaw Information.

If you would like to be included on this registry, you may complete the application at the Town Clerk's Office or CLICK HERE to submit your information online. The property address is added to the list; so, only one request is required.

Please allow 7 to 10 days for your information to be processed.

If you have already submitted your address and you are still receiving a knock on your door, please contact the Police Department at 508-966-1515 to notify them that there shouldn't be any vendors knocking on your door.

If you have already requested to be on this list but wish to be removed, please contact the Town Clerk's Office at 508-657-2831.

Residents may also publicly post a “no solicitation” or “no trespassing” sign on their property to give the Police more authority to deal with unwanted solicitation.
