The cost for dog licenses is $15 per spayed/neutered dog,
and $20 per non-spayed or neutered dog.
Please note that licenses are due by April 1, with a one-month grace period.
Per Bellingham by-laws, there will be a $25 late fee assessed per household as of May 1st for late renewals. As of June 1st, there will also be a $50 citation sent out by animal control. Please be sure to license your dog as soon as possible to avoid these fines.
Dog Licensing Requirements
All dogs in the Town of Bellingham require a license. Four dogs are permitted per household.
More than four dogs will necessitate applying for a Kennel license.
A current Rabies Certificate must be presented before a license can be issued.
Please note, registrations will not be processed and checks will be returned if rabies certificates are not up to date.
Citation fees shall be charged in accordance with Bellingham New Dog License By-Law: 55-4 Late Fees and 55-5 Collection of Fees, which requires a fee of $25 as of May 2st, and a citation of $50 as of June 1st. All payments are cumulative (License Cost plus Late Fee plus Citation Fine equals Total Payment Due).
