Melissa Denham, "Miss Melissa," is our Youth Services Librarian for ages 0-12.
She started here as an intern in the summer of 2022 and became a part-time librarian after she completed her internship. You might know Melissa from our Children's programs, or you might have seen her working in the Children's Room at the Front Desk. She completed her Master's in Library Science at the University of Rhode Island in 2022 and became a full-time employee in the fall of 2023 providing services to children from birth through age 12.
Diane Nelson
Diane Nelson, "Miss Diane," started working at the library in August of 2017.
She helps develop and run a successful after-school program for middle school-aged children and also moderates an Adult/Child Book Club that meets once a month to discuss teenage-appropriate books. Miss Diane occasionally works at the Front Desk when she is not with the children, but her favorite part of the library is getting to know the kids and their parents during the course of a school year and watching the kids grow and learn from year to year.
